Butlerstown House is probably one of the best-kept Georgian
secrets in Ireland, with many original features still in place and in
first class order.
The House stands in around 12 acres of its own grounds,
approached by a tree lined avenue. Immediately surrounding the house is
a mature well-kept garden, with the south lawn providing a peaceful seating
area, where one can read, stroll, play a game of croquet or simply relax
and enjoy the views. As well as the manicured lawns on two sides of the
House, there is also an original walled garden. This garden now houses
the purpose-built helipad, available for guests' use if required.
The elegant reception rooms are furnished with period
furniture as are the large, comfortable bedrooms. The accommodation in
brief comprises:
Ground Floor: Hallway, Study, Drawing Room, Dining Room, Communications
Centre, Games Room and Kitchen. First Floor: Five Bedrooms, all
with either en-suite or their own private facilities.
Whilst the House has undergone many changes and indeed
many owners in the last 40 years, none have detracted from the ambience
and the sheer peace and tranquillity that the house seems to bestow upon
all who come through its doors. Bask in the glow of your kitchen Aga and
peat-burning fireplaces. Unwind in the sumptuous bedrooms, revel in the
stunning views across the grounds and the rolling landscape that stretches
as far as the eye can see.
Great care has been taken to install the necessary modern
appliances to make the House comfortable, warm and inviting all year round,
with masses of hot water under pressure available all day. Likewise, central
heating is on demand 24 hours a day.
Located west of Cork city, Butlerstown House is the ideal
base for exploring West Cork, including Kinsale, Clonakilty and Glandore.
Relax in award-winning pubs and gourmet restaurants and revel in the warm
West Cork welcome. Local activities include sailing, fishing, walking
and golf.
