Ballybunion Golf Club

Ballybunion's location on the islandMany golf guides have ranked this course among the top ten golf courses in the world. Yet the Old Course was virtually unknown until Herbert Warren sang its praises to the outside world in 1968. Today Ballybunion is universally regarded as one of golf's holiest grounds. It is Ballybunionsituated on the Atlantic coastline next to the southern bank of the River Shannon estuary. When President Clinton golfed in Ireland in 1998 it was here in Ballybunion that he played with that great Irish golfer Christy O'Connor Jnr.
The course has the huge dunes like Lahinch but without the blind spots. There are no pushover holes, yet everyone is a pleasurable experience.

Visitors are welcome Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. If you require a caddy please give advance notice. Catering is also available.
