Generally,
links courses are in remote, even desolate areas (therein the charm) but this
equally charming one is only 3.5 miles from the centre of Dublin, on Bull Island,
a bird sanctuary. It's the second-oldest club in Ireland and is designed in the
old tradition of seaside links: the front nine goes out in a line (wind helping)
and the back nine comes back in a line (wind against). So, don't expect to make
a comeback on the way home if you struggled going out.
Visitors are welcome Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and
Fridays. If you require a caddy please give advance notice.
